Hot High Tech Stocks To Own Right Now

It's been on the radar for weeks. But, not even the investors who knew something big was coming could have predicted the splash that Green Automotive Co. (OTCMKTS:GACR) would be able to make at the upcoming Limousine, Charter, and Tour Conference in Las Vegas. It is "the" event of the year for the industry, when new products are showcased, when buyers make decisions, and when deals are made. And, given what GACR has ready to display at the conference, this little company could end up stealing the show.

First things first. For those not familiar with the company, GACR is an electric vehicle company. That description doesn't do it justice, however. Green Automotive Company is actually in the business of useful, practical electric cars for average people in the mass market, rather than a company that (1) talks about someday getting into the business of electric cars, (2) makes EVs that are little more than battery-powered go-carts, and (3) isn't selling electric cars at a price that's out of reach for most consumers. In other words, GACR "gets it." That's how it became an all-inclusive EV name, offering service to existing electric vehicles, providing design service for an upcoming EV for an EU consortium, acting as a dealer for a wide variety of electric vehicle manufacturers, and serving as a manufacturer of electric-powered shuttle buses... where the biggest opportunity for electricity-driven vehicles is quietly waiting for someone to tap the opportunity.

The first risk is clear as day. In addition to Trulia, Zillow (NASDAQ: Z  ) and Move (NASDAQ: MOVE  ) have found success over the past couple of quarters as the housing market has found a floor and inventory levels have dropped to multi-year lows. Zillow, for example, recently kicked off its first national TV ad campaign meant to boost its image and public awareness of the brand. With $179 million in cash and web traffic up 63% in its most recent quarter, there's a lot of reason to believe it'll give Trulia a run for its money. Similarly, Move witnessed its mobile app views jump by more than 100% from the previous year despite a tame 3% growth in website traffic. Simply put, if Trulia can't differentiate itself from Zillow and Move.com, it could be difficult to grow its top and bottom lines.

American homeowners might not actually be listing their homes for sale – but they want to. Why? Because it a tale of two markets in the U.S., with home prices rising, but inventory thin, as homeowners just aren sure they want to let their properties go when theye once again climbing up in terms of home value.

According to CoreLogic, which tracks home prices on a monthly basis, U.S. home prices increased by 11.1 percent from March 2013 to March 2014. That represents 25 straight months of year-over-year price appreciation growth for U.S. homeowners, after four years of no or low growth.

It a strange dichotomy, as higher prices would normally lead to a stronger real estate market, as more owners sought to capitalize on higher prices. But the Great Recession took such a heavy toll on the housing market that homeowners seem to okay with waiting awhile while their homes regain lost pricing value.

arch data on new and existing home sales was weaker than expected and is a cause for concern as we enter the spring buying season, says Dr. Mark Fleming, chief economist for CoreLogic. nterest rate-disenfranchised potential sellers are adding to the existing shadow inventory, while buyers who can’t find what they want to buy are on the sidelines creating a new kind of ‘shadow demand.’ This supply and demand imbalance continues to drive home prices higher, even though transaction volumes are lower than expected.br>
In such a downright weird real estate market, how can investors make money on the housing sector, even with prices high and sales transactions low. Here one idea choose an industry stock that makes money when homeowners even think about selling their property.

That where Zillow (NYSE: Z) pops into the picture. Besides its standard, and increasingly profitable Premier Agent, Mortgage Marketplace and Zillow Rentals services (primarily geared toward real estate and lend

Margins matter. The more Vitacost.com (Nasdaq: VITC  ) keeps of each buck it earns in revenue, the more money it has to invest in growth, fund new strategic plans, or (gasp!) distribute to shareholders. Healthy margins often separate pretenders from the best stocks in the market. That's why we check up on margins at least once a quarter in this series. I'm looking for the absolute numbers, so I can compare them to current and potential competitors, and any trend that may tell me how strong Vitacost.com's competitive position could be.

This is a rare event we are seeing today. When was the last time anyone heard about anything great happening at Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX)? This document management provider has two positive developments happening at once. That would be hard to imagine if you just thought about Xerox as the good old copier company. That reference also seems to be long ago now.

What the Catch With Timios National Corp? According to various disclosures, at least one promoter expects to be compensated up to $140k to talk about Timios National Corp. However, Timios National Corp itself has been fairly quiet with news for the past several months except for financial filings. Probably the most recent relevant filing dates from September and is about an Asset Purchase Agreement with Adobe Title, LLC, whereby HOMS acquired all of the assets and properties of, and assumed certain liabilities, from the latter in consideration of $500,000 plus an earn-out equal to 7.25% of the Gross Revenue up to a maximum of $3,500,000 starting approximately six months from the date of the Agreement and ending on the forty-eighth monthly anniversary of such start date. A quick look at Timios National Corp financials reveals revenues of $6,810k (most recent reported quarter), $8,519k, $7,355k and $6,866k for the past four reported quarters along with a net loss of $120k (most recent reported quarter), net income of $329k and $66, and a net loss of $2,073k. So its hard to explain the sudden share price decline last Friday.
